Patricia Sarah Houseman Gray

Patricia Sarah Housman Gray, 89, of Loris passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, at McLeod Loris Hospital in Loris following an illness. She was born on Dec. 9, 1928, in Westwood, N.J., to the late Mortimer J. Housman and the late Hazel Collignon Housman. Ok was a loving homemaker and of the Lutheran faith.

Living in Whiting N.J., both she and her husband Chet were instrumental, with other dedicated folks, in bringing the Whiting First Aid Squad to their adopted home. After Chet’s death, she moved to Florida where she lived a very happy life with relatives and friends, enjoying cruises and many other trips. She leaves behind her many friends at Midway Estates in Vero Beach whom she considered to be her family as well.

Survivors include her three sons, Rick Gray and wife Carla of Michigan, Chester Gray Jr. of Loris and Mark Gray of Florida; four daughters, Kathryn Weitzel and husband Glen of Loris, June Gray of Arizona, Patty Teegarden of Florence and Christine Daley of Loris, ; many loving grand and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Diane Smith for being such a devoted friend and dedicated caregiver who will always be an integral part of our loving family.

Mrs. Gray was predeceased by her husband, Chester “Chet” George Gray Jr; son, Michael Gray; three brothers; and two sisters.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in New Jersey.
