The North Myrtle Beach High School Naval Junior Reserve Officer Trainning Corps unit met Vice President Mike Pence on Saturday, March 30, 2019.
It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for the 13 cadets who travelled to Myrtle Beach International Airport to greet the vice president.
The cadets and chaperones were escorted to the front of the security lines by the coordinator of the vice presidential motorcade and were put in the most ideal spot for shaking his hand when Pence landed on the tarmac.
Congressman Tom Rice, Senator Lindsay Graham and the second lady of the United States were also along to meet the young consitituents.
Vice President Pence was in town to attend a brunch at Kingston Plantation in Myrtle Beach to help support Lindsay Graham’s campaign.
Meeting these elected officials was an incredible experience for all the cadets who attended. The North Myrtle Beach High School NJROTC is proud to have answered the call to meet the vice president from the White House.
NJROTC is a non-partisan group and was happy to support the United States government.
