Peter “Pietro” Faso Sr., 91, of Longs died on, Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2020, at home with his family. Born on Jan. 14, 1929, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Matteo and Rose Rizzo Faso. He was known affectionately as Popi to his many grandchildren.
Peter grew up in North Plainfield, NJ, and moved to Piscataway as an adult to raise his family. He served in the Navy after World War II in California and the South Pacific. Peter was an “auto-body man” and worked very hard to provide for his family. He retired and moved to South Carolina in 2003.
Mr. Faso is survived by his son, Peter Faso Jr. of Longs; daughter, Teresa Drake and fiance’ Clinton Sullivan of Little River; son, Matthew Faso and wife Michelle Contey of Stow, Ma.; grandchildren, Vincent Jr., Paige, Salvatore and Mario Drake and, Matteo and Marco Faso; great -grandchild Bentley Drake; siblings, sister, Rose Lear of New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Felicia Ronzo and Catherine Izzo, and a brother, Ignatius Faso.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
