North Myrtle Beach Postal Carrier Horace Prince Jr. is being recognized for his two outstanding career achievements.
Recently he joined the National Safety Council’s prestigious Million Mile Club. To qualify for this honor, an employee must have driven 25,000 hours or one million miles without a preventable motor vehicle accident. He also has over 30 years of service as a North Myrtle Beach Rural Carrier.
Postmaster Trena Wilson presented the award to Prince thanking him for the safety performance that led him to this achievement.
Prince has been with the postal service for over 38 years, seven years as a sub and 31 years as a regular carrier. He enjoys his job. “I’m half way to retirement!” he says with a smile. “Working with the postal service has allowed my family to enjoy life more.” He also expressed his passion to serve his customers day in and day out. This is an extremely valuable core principle for an employee with the postal service.
Supervisor Donna Durland adds that Mr. Prince not only provides good customer service, he is a role model for his coworkers as well. “When it comes to caring about his customers and maintaining a professional image he is the perfect example of how it’s done. As far as advice to other carriers, Prince shared “service is the key.”
“Look on the bright side and keep your eye on the prize because you have a good job!”
Always put safety first.”
