Richard E. “Dick” Bell, 83, of Little River died on Sunday, July 14, 2019, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
Born on Jan. 28, 1936, in Conway, he was the son of the late R.E. and Ruby Reeves Bell.
Dick retired from his business, Bell Oil Company, in 1995 to his farm in Wampee, where he spent many wonderful years, working his garden, fishing and mostly spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Gore Bell; son, Chris Bell, his children, Austin and Camyrn Bell; daughter, Emily Bell Butzer, her children, Jarret and Carson Butzer; stepchildren, Andy Courtney and his wife, Mary Ann, their children, Katie and Tanner Courtney; Suzanne C. Palmer and her husband, Matt, and their children, Davis Simmons and Makayla and Phoenix Palmer; sister, JoAnn Johnson; three nieces, Beth, Amy and Meg; lifelong “blood” brother, Bill Bennett; and caregiver, Katie Washington.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, in Lee Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial, with military honors, will follow the service at Forest Lawn Cemetery on Water Tower Road in Longs.
