Robert ‘Bob’ Norman Stapleton

Robert “Bob” Norman Stapleton, 79, of Loris passed away on Friday, May 31, 2019, at Embrace Hospice in Myrtle Beach. He was born on Oct. 23, 1939, in Rutland, Vermont, a son of the late Marshall Claire Stapleton and the late Helena Catherine Filipetti Brinker.

Mr. Stapleton served his country with courage and honor as a Green Beret in the United States Army. After the military he worked with the New York State Police as a senior investigator until his retirement. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his companion, Gail T. Porter; his two sons, Dean Stapleton of Massachusetts and James Stapleton of New York; his two daughters, Heather Stapleton of Massachusetts and Shannon Stapleton of New Jersey; his two brothers, Howard Stapleton of Colorado and William Brinker of Massachusetts; his sister, Candice “Candy” Stapleton of Washington, D.C.; and seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Stapleton was predeceased by his parents and a brother.
