NMB Volleyball, other fall sports teams getting underway at school The North Myrtle Beach girl’s volleyball team finished second in last weekend’s preseason tournament at North Myrtle Beach, before this week’s opener.
The Lady Chiefs won three of five matches in the tournament. They won over Marvin Ridge 2-1 (19-25, 25-23, 15- 13), lost to Porter Gaud 1-2 (25-18,16-25, 11-15), won 2-0 over Hoggard (25-23, 25-13), won over West Henderson 2-0 (25-21, 25-22) and lost to Wando 0-2 (15-25, 15-25).
The volleyball team has a full week with a tri-match in Lexington, S.C., against Lexington and Nations Ford on Wednesday, Aug. 28, followed by a home match on Thursday, Aug. 29, at home with St. James visiting. They travel to Socastee on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
The JV football team opens their season with a home game against Loris on Thursday, Aug. 29.
The swim team opened up with an away meet last Saturday against Carolina Forest.
The girl’s and boy’s cross country teams were in action on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at home against Aynor and Loris.
The varsity tennis team opened with a match this Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Socastee. They play their first home matches next Tuesday and Wednesday versus Socastee and Carolina Forest.
