Student of the Month: November 2018

Olivia Borgman is being honored by the North Myrtle Beach Optimist Club as the November Student of the Month. Olivia is the daughter of Amber and Jeff Borgman and is in the sixth grade at North Myrtle Beach Middle School. She is a member of the Welcome Committee and FCA.

Away from school, Olivia is active in her youth group at Christ United Methodist Church, Myrtle Beach. She volunteers by working in the nursery at her church, helping with the homeless ministry, raising money for charitable organizations, and mentoring special needs students. She also sorted supplies for flood victims and delivered supplies and homemade cards to the National Guard.

Olivia is a member of the Grand Strand Juniors travel volleyball team and takes piano and guitar lessons. Through her actions, Olivia is able to be a positive role model for other students and improve her community’s environment. Olivia’s message to other students is to be kind and appreciate others and remember they can do all things through Christ. Olivia says to work hard in school and to do your best.

During high school, Olivia plans to be an exceptional student. She would like to continue to play volleyball at both the high school and college level while studying to be a marine biologist. She also hopes to bless people with music through ministry work.

The Student of the Month is selected by a committee of teachers. The selection is based on community service, academic achievement, personal effort, and positive behavior.
