Tammie René West Cox, 58, of Longs passed away on Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach following an illness. She was born on Sept. 3, 1960, in Charleston to John Turner West Sr. and Versie Carter West. Mrs. Cox was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and attended Mt. Leon Baptist Church. She previously worked with ESCOD Industries, but will be most remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, daughter and friend to all who were blessed to have known her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cox is survived by her husband, Russell Cox of the home; son, Patrick Cox and wife Paula of Nakina, N.C.; daughter, Lindsey Cox Antley and husband Bryan of Longs; three grandchildren, Kix Ward, Ashlynn Ward and Lilly Cox; and three brothers, John Turner West Jr. and wife Tammy of Longs, Josh West and Trevor West, both of Loris.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, Dec. 5, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Hardwick Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, at Mt. Leon Baptist Church with Pastor Andy Bell and the Rev. Lebron Crisp officiating. Committal services followed at Mt. Leon Cemetery.
