NMB Chamber of Commerce, CVB announces Board of Directors

By Pete Brooks During the North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce’s Chairman’s Luncheon held recently at The Surf Club in North Myrtle Beach, the Chamber announced the 2019-2020 officers and Board of Directors. The incoming Board Chair is Mendel Bell of TouchMed Spa and Southern Tide Media. Mendel has been a leader in the Chamber of Commerce and CVB for several years having recently served as the chair for Build North Myrtle Beach and as chair of the recent search committee to recruit a new Chamber/CVB CEO. McLeod recognizes merit award recipients

McLeod Health Loris in Loris and McLeod Health Seacoast in Little River are pleased to announce their June Merit Award recipients they are: Lori Van Horn, RN, Surgical Services Educator; Dee Hoover, Registration Representative; Emily Kinlaw, RN, Med/Surg Unit; and Loretta Batten, Outpatient Surgery Unit Secretary. The American Pride March paying tribute to this great nation.

Local volunteers marched from both ends of North Myrtle Beach and met at the Horseshoe carrying the USA, SC, POW and Purple Heart flags down the beach starting at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 4. The march ended with a flag raising ceremony, a prayer and a salute from the shore with modern and vintage aircrafts performing in a 1 p.m. fly over during the American Pride March paying tribute to this great nation.

Jim Quick & Coastline will perform in free concert tonight

Ingram Dunes will be a nature preserve

By Damien Triouleyre Most of the high and ancient Ingram Dunes in the heart of North Myrtle Beach are now safe as a nature preserve.  On May 2, the owners and the city signed an agreement for the city to purchase 77 percent of the Dunes for a preserve (7.2 acres out of 9.4 acres).  On June 4, the purchase was completed and then announced to the public on June 6.  The Ingram family retains ownership of the remaining 2.2 acres.  This part has been divided into seven lots to be sold adjoining the preserve.  The team  had hoped that …

Kentucky Fried Chicken To Reopen

The Loris Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant will reopen on Thursday, July 11, after being closed for two weeks remodeling and updating equipment.  Devon Carey, District Manager for KFC, said, “The employees have not had to take time off work as their help with minor work, cleaning and working to prepare the restaurant for the reopening.”  Carey stated the popular Pepsi product, Mountain Dew Sweet Lightning, is now on the menu.  Some menu items have changed, but livers and gizzards are still the most popular items requested by customers and will be served daily. Loris Fire Department along with Loris Police Department

Loris Fire Department along with Loris Police Department hosted the Grand Strand Trauma Services Team in updates to our area Trauma Program and in bleeding control training and equipment.  Two dozen responders learned current national trends, refreshed on basic and new bleeding control skills, learned about historical cases to large responses and new program updates.  Several LFD and LPD responders are also now trained in delivering  bleeding control training to our local civic groups, churches, business and general public.
