The Family Summer Event at Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s began on Saturday, June 22, featuring free fun workshops, activities and games where kids and families can learn skills to enjoy great outdoor adventures together. The interactive activities continue through Sunday, July 21, at Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s locations across the United States and Canada. Free weekly workshops are conducted by store experts every Thursday and Saturday from 12 noon to 3 p.m. and every Sunday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. providing the entire family the chance to learn the basics of camping, fishing, shooting and archery. Knights of Columbus help community

Number 7122 from Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in North Myrtle Beach continues serving in North Myrtle Beach and the surrounding areas.They raise money in various ways to help those in need. One of the ways is the food pantry that is located at the church. Proceeds are raised through their pasta dinners which are hosted every first Tuesday of the month. City reacts to County’s decision to collect hospitality, accommodations taxes within city limits

Today, June 25, Horry County announced it intends to collect hospitality and accommodations taxes within the city of North Myrtle Beach. Only the city of North Myrtle Beach has the legal right to establish and collect these taxes within its jurisdiction. Horry County has absolutely no authority to do so and is in clear violation of law. In overwhelming fashion, the recent Court order associated with CIVIL ACTION NO. 2019-CP-26-01732 opposed Horry County’s actions in this regard. VFW Post 10804 is named best in state

North Myrtle Beach’s Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10804 walked away from the recently completed VFW Department (state) Convention in Columbia with a very prestegious award. The official title is the James W. Cothran award. This award also makes Post 10804 an “All State Post”. VFW Post 10804 was recognized for its ground-breaking initiative to partially power the post building with solar power by way of a collaboration with a company in California that supports military affiliated non-profits, our own Coastal Carolina University’s Solar Ambassadors fundraisers and a solar installation company based in North Carolina.
