NMB Chiefs wrestlers finish second in Chiefs Classic

The North Myrtle Beach High School wrestling team hosted eight teams last Saturday for the Chiefs Classic, “Brawl on the River”, at North Myrtle Beach gym and after a long day finished in second place behind Carolina Forest. North Myrtle Beach, Beaufort, North Charleston, Stratford, Loris, Waccamaw, Carolina Forest and Fairfield each wrestled four duals during the tournament, where individual matches earned points for the school’s team and eventually the final team winner. Chiefs teams beat visiting Conway in doubleheader

The North Myrtle Beach High School girls and boys basketball teams gave the visiting Conway teams a double beating last Tuesday, with the girls winning 56-4. That’s not a typo. Then the boys team put on a defensive show with a 55-31 victory. The Lady Chiefs opened the scoring when Riley Vincent swished a three-point shot soon after the game started. A short time later, following a turnover, Jenna Berger scored with an assist from Jordan Berger, and Jenna scored another layup following a steal. AAST wins state championship

The Academy for Arts, Science, and Technology High School’s We The People Competition Team won the State Championship on Friday Dec. 13, 2019 in Columbia. This was the teams first ever championship victory in which they took 5 of the 6 best unit awards. The students will move on and compete at the Nationals to be held in Washington D.C., April 24-27. North Myrtle Beach wrestling team wins Low Country Duals

The North Myrtle Beach High School wrestling team won the Low Country Duals last week 4-0 at Waccamaw High School as they beat four teams on their way to the title. The Chiefs began the competition with a 64-12 victory over Marion. The Chiefs first two wrestlers, Jackson Smith (106) and Jacob Moss (113), both won by forfeit. There was no match in the 120- pound class. The next four matches were pins by North Myrtle Beach. NMB girls, boys varsity basketball teams continue winning ways

The North Myrtle Beach girls and boys basketball teams continued a successful start to their regular season with wins over Carolina Forest and Loris last Tuesday and Friday at home. The Lady Chiefs beat a pesky Carolina Forest squad 42-34 on Tuesday, then took care of Loris Friday night by a 50-31 score. The boys won their game against Carolina Forest by a 66-59 score, then scored in the last seconds of the fourth quarter to beat Loris 44-43. North Myrtle Beach girls and boys basketball teams off to 3-0 start

The North Myrtle Beach High School boys and girls varsity basketball teams have started the season 3-0, with two road wins last week and a first home win Monday night at home. Last Tuesday the Lady Chiefs began their campaign with a 53-25 win at Carolina Forest. Coach Brooke Smith was very pleased with the results. “Almost our entire team put points on the board. Varsity basketball, wrestling teams to begin their seasons

The North Myrtle Beach High School boys and girls varsity basketball teams begin their 2019-20 regular season this week. The Chiefs teams have two away, non-conference matchups, with visits to Carolina Forest on Tuesday evening and then a trip to Loris High School gym on Friday. The teams return home next week for three home dates beginning Monday against West Brunswick. The Chiefs wrestling team began their matches on Tuesday at Loris High School.

GSF Trojans play for state championship

The Green Sea Floyds Trojans have made history moving up through the ranks to the state championship game to be held on Friday, Dec. 6, at Benedict College in Columbia. With goals realized and the biggest dream is only a few days away; reaching the state championship game is a goal shared throughout the state. Only ten teams make it each year. With the lower state 1A championship in sight the Green Sea Floyds Trojans are ready for the big game against Lake View High School Wild Gators on Friday, Nov. 29, with a kick-off time at 7:30 p.m. at Luther Enzor Field. Chiefs end football season on road in second round

The North Myrtle Beach Chiefs varsity football season ended this past Thursday night on the road in the second round of the state 4-A playoffs to Myrtle Beach by a final score of 35-27. The Chiefs (6-5) led through most of the second, third and fourth quarters, but a late surge by the Seahawks put them ahead by one late, and then finished the Chiefs in the closing minutes.
