City paid parking season ends today

The city’s 2019 paid parking season comes to a close on Thursday, Oct. 31, at 5 p.m. At that time, all paid parking kiosks in public parking lots on either side of Ocean Boulevard will be turned off and the Passport App will no longer accept payments for those lots until next parking season, currently identified as March 1, 2020, through Oct. 31, 2020. Representatives from Kimley-Horn, the city’s public parking consultant, will be on hand Friday, Nov. 15, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at City Hall to conduct a public parking charrette. Nicole Walters will probably be the first to greet you when you visit Waterway Elementary School or she will likely be the person you first talk to if you call. Keep North Myrtle Beach Beautiful will hold its annual Citywide Home Cleanup Day on Saturday, Nov. 2,  from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The annual home cleanup day provides North Myrtle Beach residents with an opportunity to clean out their closets, attics, garages and storage sheds. Girls volleyball team finishes region play as 10-0 champions

The North Myrtle Beach High School girls varsity volleyball team had another successful week, beating Wilson and Darlington to finish the 6AAAA region with a 10-0 record and an overall record of 29-10. The Lady Chiefs beat the Wilson Tigers on Tuesday 3-0 (25-11, 25-21, 25-9) at North Myrtle Beach in their final regular season home match. Last Thursday the Chiefs finished up the regular season by travelling to Darlington and again won by a 3-0 score (25-8, 25-8, 25-11).
