Catherine Josephine Atkinson

Catherine Josephine Atkinson of Longs passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020, at home in the loving company of her family.   She was born on Oct. 29, 1925, in the town of Fork (Dillon County), S.C. on the kitchen table where she was known to everyone as the ninth child of 14 born to Dick Cleveland ‘D.C.’ Atkinson and Sarah Fleetwood ‘Fleety’ Carmichael. She became Josephine Livingston on April 10, 1943, when she married Joseph ‘J.B.’ Benjamin Livingston. Carmine Buddy Nicholas Botti

Carmine “Buddy” Nicholas Botti, 89, of Myrtle Beach passed away on Friday, Feb. 14, 2020, at Portside Assisted Living at Grand Dunes in Myrtle Beach surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 5, 1930, in Bellmore, N.Y., to the late Nicholas Botti and the late Marie Campanella Botti. He served his country with honor, courage and dignity as a MP in the U.S. Army. Mr. Botti retired from Grumman Aerospace as a group leader where he worked on the Lunar Excursion Module contributing to the Race for the Moon Project. He enjoyed crabbing and clamming on the …

Michael A. Lange

Michael A. Lange, 79,  of Longs, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020, after a long illness surrounded by his loving family. Mike was born on Jan. 31, 1940 in Troy, New York and has been a resident of South Carolina for almost 25 years. He attended the Sacred Heart school system and was a cadet at LaSalle Institute High School where he was a standout baseball and basketball player. Raymond Aubrey McLain Sr., 82 and Joan McLain, 82, both of Highway 144 Loris, passed away from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Raymond was born August 2, 1937, in Falls Church, Va., a son of the late Preston Skidmore and Margaret Burgess McLain.  Prior to retirement, he was a senior personnel management specialist for 29 years and eight months with Architect of the United States Capitol.  He was predeceased by a son, Raymond McLain Jr. Joan was born on September 15, 1937, in Washington, D.C., a daughter of the late George M. Peter Raymond Higgins of Longs, 81, died on Monday, Feb. 3, 2020, at McLeod Seacoast Medical Center in Little River. Born on April 5, 1938, in Syracuse, N.Y., he was the son of the late Edwin S. and Mary Smith Higgins. Mr. Higgins served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps. Jean M. Wirth, 84,  of North Myrtle Beach passed away on Monday, Jan. 27, 2020, at McLeod Seacoast Hospital in Little River, SC. Gerald S. Hildebrand, 89, of Little River died on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020, at his home. Born on May 23, 1930, in Dallastown, Pa., he was the son of the late Sterling and Margaret Williams Hildebrand.
