Linda Susan McStravick, 49, of Longs passed away suddenly on Monday, March 30, 2020, at McLeod Seacoast Medical Center in Little River. Born on Feb. 23, 1971, in Trenton, N.J., she was the daughter of John E. and Juanita S. Wallach McStravick. Linda graduated from Pennsbury High School in 1989. She lived in Fairless Hills, Pa., and had resided in Longs for the past 14 years. Doerthe Needham was born on April 13, 1929, in Queens, N.Y., to Magda  and Ludwig Boehmer.Her parents immigrated to America from Germany at different times, met in Queen and married, making her percent German born in America. She enjoyed reading, math, swimming and competitive sailing where she met her future husband on Little Neck Bay. She graduated from High School in Queens then Goucher College with a four year early education degree in 1950. Dennis Ray Massengill of North Myrtle Beach, 71, passed away peacefully at Embrace Hospice House in Myrtle Beach, on Saturday, April 4, 2020. Born on March 2, 1949 in Johnston County, N.C., he was the son of Herbert and Nellie Allen Massengill. Dennis loved spending time on the beach and shagging. Joe Wakley Graham, 93, of Loris went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at McLeod Loris Hospital in Loris. Mr. Graham was born on Nov. 11, 1926, in Loris to the late Eap Graham and the late Maybelle Rogers Graham. He retired as a farmer and was a lifelong member of Lake Swamp Baptist Church.  On Saturday, April 4, 2020, Brenda Bovender Hicks, loving wife, mother and grandmother, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 72. Brenda was born on Oct. 15, 1947, in Winston Salem, N.C., to James and Juanita Bovender. She worked at Piedmont Airlines and US Airways for 33 years. On Nov. 14, 1993, she married David Hicks. Dayton Vaughan Altman, 60, of North Myrtle Beach passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020, in the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center, Brunswick House, in Bolivia, N.C., after an extended illness. Dayton was born on April 4, 1959, in Ft. Benning, Ga., to the late Eugene Ray Altman Sr. and Patricia Lulie Vaughan Altman. He was a master boat repairman and electronics installer by trade. His love of the water and boating led him to obtain his Captains License known as a “Six Pack License.” Dayton enjoyed sailing and his life-long dream was to sail his boat, “Typhoon”, to Bermuda. …

David J. Delph, 76,  of Little River died on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at his home. Born on February 1, 1944, in Joplin, Mo., he was the son of the late Everett and Louise DeStefano Delph. Mr. Delph is survived by his only child, Barbara Delph of Little River; two grandchildren, Alexander and Jeremy Byrnes; and sister, Judith Delph. James Oliver Cook, 80, died on Monday, March 23, 2020, at McLeod Loris Hospital. Most recently, Jim lived in North Myrtle Beach, where he retired with his wife Janice, after raising their four boys in Painted Post, N.Y.  He was born on April 25, 1939, in Elmira, N.Y., the son of the late J. Howard and Agnes H. John “Jack” Kapral Jr., 82, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020, at McLeod Seacoast Hospital in Little River.  Jack was born in 1937 in Dover, New Jersey. After attending Dean College, he proudly served in the U.S Army and then spent his professional career working at Hewlett Packard.  He will be remembered as a proud military veteran, loving husband and proud father. Annie Juanice “Neecy” Mincey, 83, of North Myrtle Beach passed away after a short illness on Friday, March 20, 2020. Born in Horry County and living most of her life in Mullins, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Wadis L. Mincey and Ruth Collins Mincey. She was preceded in death by one brother, Lavern Mincey.
