Theodore “Ted” Van Weeren, 72, of Longs died on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, at McLeod Seacoast Medical Center in Little River. Born on Sept. 10, 1947, in Holland, he was the son of the late Jacobus and Johanna Van Weeren.  Ted was an accountant and attorney.  He was the recipient of two Emmy Awards for his work at the Olympic Games in 1984 and 1988. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jacqueline “Jackie” Serafin Van Weeren; and three feline companions, Angela, Sabrina and Saffron. Joseph M. Mercurio, beloved husband and father, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 25, 2019, at the age of 83.  Joseph is survived by his four children, Karin, Kenneth, Patti-Jo and Peggi, and his four grandchildren, Cameron, Carson, Mary and Hannah. Joseph was born to Joseph and Marge Mercurio on March 20, 1936. He attended high school in Bloomfield where he met a future nursing student named Nancy. Wilma Prince Cox, 80, of Loris passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019, at her home in Loris. She was born on August 27, 1939, in Loris to the late Rufus Prince and the late Gracie Wade Prince. Berkley “Dwain” Spivey, 89, of McDonough, Ga., passed away on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019. He was a loving husband of 63 years to the late Lorene Norris Spivey. Mr. Spivey was born in Tabor City, N.C., on April 20, 1930, to the late Foster and Flossie Ann Spivey. He was a devout Christian and was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach. Robert Paul Arbott, 82, of Carlisle, Pa., formerly of Little River and Myrtle Beach, died on Thursday, September 12, 2019, at his residence. He was born on November 30, 1936, in New Kensington, Pa., to the late Peter Paul and Catherine (Kregiel) Arbott. Dr. Nicholas Foy Nixon Jr.  of North Myrtle Beach passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, September 12, 2019, at his home in Tilghman Estates. Daniel Robert Cinq-Mars, 71, of Loris passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019, at his home. He was born on July 26, 1948 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, to the late Robert Irené Cinq-Mars and the late Pauline Madeline Gagne Cinq-Mars. He served his country with honor and courage in the United States Coast Guard for four years during the Vietnam Era.
