Barbara Jean Coleman-Franks, 65, of North Myrtle Beach passed away on Friday, Sept. 6, 2019, at her home. Born on July 18, 1954, she was the daughter of Willard and Virginia Ledbetter Franks. She is survived by her daughter, Chrystal Anderson (Keith) of Springtown, Texas, and their children.  Also surviving are her aunt, Norma Louise Ferranti (Gildo); cousins, Don (Joan) Dupree and their two children; Mark (Dannon) Dupree and their two children; Linda (Frank) Davis and their child; and great uncle, Jerry Thompson, all of Michigan. Wilbur Kelly Arnette, 82, of Loris passed away on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center in Whiteville, N.C., following an illness. Mr. Arnette was born on March 20, 1937, in Conway to the late Van John Arnette and the late Alice Williams Arnette. Mr. Arnette served his country with honor and courage in the United States Army. He was a longtime active member of Loris First Baptist Church. Mr. Arnette was the manager of Merita Bread Company for thirty-five years. Lucinda “Cindy” Powell Struve Faircloth, 78, of Tabor City, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Angel House in Whiteville, N.C., following an extended illness. Her family was by her side. Lucinda was born on Aug. 18, 1941, in Loris to the late Charlie Mack Powell and Edith Turbeville Powell. She graduated from Kings College and worked as a bookkeeper with Marlene Industries until she retired. Joseph L. Carter, 74, a commercial real estate agent, developer and conservationist, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019.  Joe was born at the Brooklyn Naval Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y. on March 1, 1945, to Loyd and Anna (Walsh) Carter.  He grew up in Beech Island and graduated from Aquinas High School in Augusta, Georgia.  He received a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of South Carolina, becoming the first in his family to obtain a college degree.  Having graduated college in the midst of the Vietnam War, Joe enlisted in the United States Air Force on the …
