Marion Rowinski, 92, of Calabash, N.C., died unexpectedly on Monday afternoon, March 4, 2019. Marion was born in Wilkes Barre, Pa., to Lottie and Isadore Grzedzinski. She spent her early life in Plains, Pa., surrounded by a large family of brothers and sisters. Following graduation from Plains High School, she graduated from cosmetology school and worked as a licensed beautician. She then met and married Joseph Rowinski from Lee Park, Pa. Martha Fenters Baldwin, 88, of North Myrtle Beach passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on Dec. 12, 1930, in Hemingway, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Sarah M. Haselden Fenters. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach. She loved gardening and was an honorary member in the Sand Flea Living Legend Association. Talmadge “Chip” Jacobs Jr., 67, of Loris passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach. Chip was born in Loris, a son of the late Talmadge “Tab” Jacobs Sr. and the late Hazel Manning Jacobs. He was a longtime member of Loris First Baptist Church where he was a past deacon. Loris Mayor Henry L. “Buck” Nichols passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2019, at approximately 4 p.m. He had returned home from the hospital for two days before returning to The Loris McLeod Hospital emergency room. He was admitted to the I.C.U. department where he succumbed to his illness. Nichols was in his first term of office. Marlene Hight Yancey, 65, of North Myrtle Beach passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Feb. 18, 2019. Marlene was born on Oct. 12, 1953, in Warrenton, N.C., to the late A. B. (Bert) Hight and Elizabeth Peoples Hight. She attended Louisburg College. Marlene worked for the Chancellors Office at East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C. and the Vance and Guilford County Extension Office. Nelson “Edd” Powell, 68, of Little River passed away on Monday, Feb. 18, 2019, surrounded by family. Edd was born on Oct. 31, 1950, in Lake City to the late Olin and Hazel Powell.
