Dennis Ray Massengill

Dennis Ray Massengill of North Myrtle Beach, 71, passed away peacefully at Embrace Hospice House in Myrtle Beach, on Saturday, April 4, 2020. Born on March 2, 1949 in Johnston County, N.C., he was the son of Herbert and Nellie Allen Massengill. Dennis loved spending time on the beach and shagging. Survivors include his brother, Larry James Massengill; sister, Joyce Rinehart; two nephews, Larry “Eugene” Massengill and Rodney Massengill (Sandy) and their children, Joshua and Julia; one niece, Denise Jernigan and her children, Hailee and Brysan; and many close and special friends. Joe Wakley Graham

Joe Wakley Graham, 93, of Loris went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at McLeod Loris Hospital in Loris. Mr. Graham was born on Nov. 11, 1926, in Loris to the late Eap Graham and the late Maybelle Rogers Graham. He retired as a farmer and was a lifelong member of Lake Swamp Baptist Church. Brenda Bovender Hicks

 On Saturday, April 4, 2020, Brenda Bovender Hicks, loving wife, mother and grandmother, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 72. Brenda was born on Oct. 15, 1947, in Winston Salem, N.C., to James and Juanita Bovender. She worked at Piedmont Airlines and US Airways for 33 years. On Nov. 14, 1993, she married David Hicks. They raised one daughter, Angie Austin, and two sons, Scott and Joshua Hicks. Brenda loved her church (Hopewell Baptist) and church family. She was a member of many groups at her church. Dayton Vaughan Altman

Dayton Vaughan Altman, 60, of North Myrtle Beach passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020, in the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center, Brunswick House, in Bolivia, N.C., after an extended illness. Dayton was born on April 4, 1959, in Ft. Benning, Ga., to the late Eugene Ray Altman Sr. and Patricia Lulie Vaughan Altman. He was a master boat repairman and electronics installer by trade. His love of the water and boating led him to obtain his Captains License known as a “Six Pack License.” Dayton enjoyed sailing and his life-long dream was to sail his boat, “Typhoon”, to Bermuda. …

David J. Delph, 76,  of Little River died on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at his home. Born on February 1, 1944, in Joplin, Mo., he was the son of the late Everett and Louise DeStefano Delph. Mr. Delph is survived by his only child, Barbara Delph of Little River; two grandchildren, Alexander and Jeremy Byrnes; and sister, Judith Delph.
