NMB High School football teams and cheerleaders introduced to fans

Last Thursday evening the North Myrtle Beach High School football teams, band and cheerleaders were introduced individually to fans, parents and boosters for the first time. The band marched onto the field and played a preview of their halftime show. The varsity and junior varsity cheerleading squads performed and then the JV and varsity football teams were introduced as they walked down the stadium track. It was a unique way to introduce everyone and show how each of the groups are important to the success of the football program.

Walker named varsity boys basketball coach at high school

Ryan Walker was recently appointed the new varsity boys basketball coach at North Myrtle Beach High School. Walker replaces Darcie Vincent who moved to Western Carolina University after one year of coaching at North Myrtle Beach. I met Walker in his new office near the gym as he settles into his new position. He stated that he grew  up in a basketball family. NMB 13-14 All-Stars finish in third place in state Dixie Youth tournament

The North Myrtle Beach Parks and Recreation Department 13-14 All-Star team finished the SC Dixie Youth Championship Tournament in third place last week in Bluffton. The all-stars were one win away from playing in the championship when they lost to St. George 4-2. North Myrtle Beach opened tournament play with a 9-4 victory over Bluffton. They then lost to St. George by a 13-3 score in game two but came back strong to beat Chester 8-7 and Marion 7-5 in the loser’s bracket competition in the double elimination tournament. New regulation bans use of lures, attractants in state

A new regulation has been established that affects the use of natural deer lures and attractants often used by deer hunters in South Carolina. The new regulation makes it unlawful in South Carolina to possess or use, for the purpose of hunting or scouting, any substance or material that contains or claims to contain any excretion collected from a deer, including urine, feces, gland oil or other body fluid. This does not prohibit the use of synthetic products or substances collected by a hunter from deer legally harvested in South Carolina. Synthetic products are clearly labeled as such. If a …

City hosts Beginner Walking and Running Workshops for Women

The city of North Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand Running Club will present First Strides® – Beginner Walking & Running Workshops for Women.  This 12-week program will help you gradually progress from the couch to walking, jogging or running at a pace that’s comfortable for you. Women of all ages, sizes and abilities are welcome. Loris Lions are preparing for the fall sports

Loris High School Football Head Coach Jamie Snyder along with the other coaches, Brandon Day, Lang Kenlaw, Josh Stevenson, Andre White, Julius Graham, Casey Davis, Michael Buffkin and A. The 18th Annual Ocean Drive Presbyteruab Church Golf Tournament will be played on Saturday, Aug. 24, with an 8 a.m. shotgun start at Eagle Nest Golf Course in Little River. NMB 11-12 year-old All-Stars finish second in Dixie Youth Baseball State Tournament

The North Myrtle Beach Parks and Recreation Department 11 and 12 year-old All-Star team made it all the way to the final game of the Dixie Youth State Championship Tournament before losing 6-2 to Edgefield County to end their dream of going to the Dixie Youth World Series. North Myrtle Beach got to the finals by beating Greenwood 6-1 in their first game, then beating Hartsville 12-0. They lost their third game to Edgefield County by a 7-1 score, then qualified for the finals with an 11-10 win last Wednesday over Union County, which sent them into the final game …
