Aberdeen Country Club is set to reopen on Saturday

Aberdeen Country Club, a Founders Group International course, will reopen for public play on Saturday, February 23. The 27-hole facility, which closed in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence to rebuild its clubhouse, is in immaculate condition with the Grand Strand’s peak spring season on the immediate horizon. Lady Chiefs lose a heartbreaker to A.C. Flora

The North Myrtle Beach girls basketball team had their season end at the hands of the A.C. Flora Lady Falcons on Tuesday evening at the North Myrtle Beach High School gym. The 53-51 final score was as close as the game itself, as both teams had their ups and downs, with A.C. Flora holding on in the final seconds for the victory. Chiefs wrestlers win lower state but fall short in match for the state championship

The North Myrtle Beach Chiefs wrestling team beat an excellent Airport team 44-22 last Wednesday to win the Lower State Championship but lost the state title 66-15 to last year’s champ, Eastside High School, in last Saturday’s finals held at Airport High School. NMB Chiefs wrestlers win Lower State Championship with 44-22 win over Airport

The North Myrtle Beach High School Chiefs wrestling team won 10 of 13 matches on Wednesday evening to vault themselves into the championship this Saturday. The Chiefs beat an excellent Airport High School team to earn the right to play Eastside High School, last year’s champions. Wrestling team advances in state 4A playoffs

The North Myrtle Beach Chiefs wrestling team took a good first step in the Region 4A team competition last Saturday at the North Myrtle Beach High School gym. As the region’s regular season champion, the Chiefs earned a first round bye and waited for the winner of the first team competition between Midland Valley and Hilton Head High School. Midland Valley beat Hilton Head by three points but quickly met a tough Chiefs squad. The North Myrtle Beach Lady Chiefs got some revenge for an earlier loss to Wilson High School by upsetting the 4A regions only undefeated team by a 56-54 score at North Myrtle Beach on senior night. The Lady Chiefs Jermaisha Griffin got the first two of her 20 point night with a rebound basket following the opening tip of the game, Jordan Berger scored on a break and Janaii Boone’s jumper quickly gave North Myrtle Beach a 6-0 lead. North Myrtle Beach Lady Chiefs and Chiefs had a tough night of rivalry basketball last Friday at the NMB gym. The girls lost a heartbreaker 36-35, while the Chiefs were outscored 69-37. In the girls game the Lady Seahawks scored the game’s first six points and the Lady Chiefs didn’t get untracked due to missed shots and turnovers until Kaydee Runion hit a three-pointer from the left side to make it 6-3 with three minutes left in the period. Chiefs wrestling team ends season with big win

The North Myrtle Beach High School Chiefs wrestling team ended their regular season last Wednesday with a 67-6 victory over Myrtle Beach at the Chiefs gym. It was senior night as senior players and their families were honored before the match. When things got going, the Chiefs showed why they are region champions by winning all but one individual pairing. After the girls lost 57-47 and the boys were beaten 62-48 last Friday at Wilson, the Lady Chiefs and Chiefs teams came roaring back to take two games from Darlington High School at the Chiefs gym on Tuesday evening. In the girls 44-17 win the Lady Chiefs got off to a slow start as Darlington scored the first six points in the game with neither team hitting their shots. Lady Chiefs win, but Chiefs lose Tuesday night By John Smithson North Myrtle Beach splits with Marlboro County Tuesday as the girls win and boys lose at the North Myrtle Beach High School gym. The Lady Chiefs started slowly in the first half, leading 6-2 after three minutes.
