By SAMANTHA BOYD

On Thursday, Feb. 9, the Loris Chamber of Commerce sponsored the ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand opening of the Tractor Supply Company located at 603 Frontage Road in Loris.

Chamber board members, city council members, business employees and friends were there to support the event. District Sales Manager Don Newcomb said, “We are very excited to be finally opening a new location in Loris.”

Tractor Supply Company is the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the U.S. targeting the needs of recreational farmers, ranchers and all those who enjoy living the rural lifestyle, according to the business’ website.

The Loris location is one of few that also includes a pet washing station.

For a small fee you can use their shampoo and they will provide an apron and use of a drying station.

For the first several customers they handed out baseball caps with the Tractor Supply Company logo and gift cards.

All employees are new hires with the exception of store manager Don Kerr and assistant manager Melissa Kidd. Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
