The North Myrtle Beach High School varsity volleyball team returned to action last week after Hurricane Dorian visited the area. The Lady Chiefs began the week with a win over Carolina Forest at their home gym.
North Myrtle Beach won 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-21). Coach Alex Sing was glad to get the win. “Carolina Forest is young, but they have some talented kids. We were glad to get the win at their place,” Sing said.
The Lady Chiefs then finished the week on Thursday with a big conference rivalry match at Myrtle Beach. They won that one 3-0 also (25-18, 25-9, 25-17). Coach Sing was thankful to get a first victory over the Lady Seahawks. “Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach have been one and two in our region for a while now. Getting the win against them puts us in the driver’s seat for another region title. We’re not there yet, but this win certainly helps. Our kids did a good job coming off a week with no practice,” Sing said.
North Myrtle Beach has a home conference match with Marlboro County on the 19th and is also scheduled to play in the Hub City Tournament this weekend.
