Peter Raymond Higgins of Longs, 81, died on Monday, Feb. 3, 2020, at McLeod Seacoast Medical Center in Little River.
Born on April 5, 1938, in Syracuse, N.Y., he was the son of the late Edwin S. and Mary Smith Higgins.
Mr. Higgins served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Carol A. Smith Higgins; daughter, Gale Higgins; brother, Dick Higgins; sister, Carol Kraft; and grandson, Ryan Pietraszek.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in North Myrtle Beach.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice, 4000 Hwy. 9 East, Little River, S.C. 29566.
