Flush all onsite plumbing systems when reopening

As commercial establishments (retail stores, restaurants, etc.) and rental properties (hotels, condos, beach homes, etc.) begin to reopen in our area, the city of North Myrtle Beach requests that these water customers completely flush their onsite plumbing system.

All internal plumbing lines (i.e. hot and cold water piping), water heaters, faucets and fixtures within these facilities should be flushed to purge water that may have become stagnant after low or no usage.

Stagnant water can lead to poor water quality and low levels of disinfectant in the water. Disinfectants are necessary to keep the water safe for consumption.

Please be assured that there are no issues with the public water supply as our system has remained fully operational throughout the recent business closures.
