Joseph “Joe” Quincy Hammond, 89, of Loris passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, at his home in Springfield, Ga. Joe was born in Mullins, on Oct. 25, 1930, to Martin Durham and Roxie Cleo Buffkin Hammond. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1948, serving in the Korean and Vietnam wars. After proudly serving his country for twenty-six years he retired in 1974. He married the love of his life on June 22, 1956, in Jacksonville, N.C. Gerald S. Hildebrand, 89, of Little River died on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020, at his home. Born on May 23, 1930, in Dallastown, Pa., he was the son of the late Sterling and Margaret Williams Hildebrand. Mr. Hildebrand served his country proudly in the United States Army 25th Infantry Division for 28 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 186, a Life Member of VFW Post 10804, and a member of Masonic Lodge 649 in Pennsylvania and Lodge 392 in South Carolina for 62 years.
