Johnny L. “Trip” Causey III, 48, of North Myrtle Beach died on Monday, April 27, 2020.
Born on Feb. 6, 1972, in Horry County, he was the son of JoAnn Shoemaker Causey and the late Johnny L. Causey Sr.
Trip graduated from North Myrtle Beach High School where he enjoyed playing football for the Chiefs. He then graduated from Charleston Southern University with a degree in Criminal Justice. Later he attended and graduated from The South Carolina Police Academy. He was a warm hearted, friendly, gregarious person who was devoted to his family and friends. He loved animals and his two dogs, Gracie and Little Man, were his babies, who were always with him. He loved landscaping and being in the outdoors. He spent a lot of time on the water fishing and hunting with friends and family.
Other than his mother, Trip is survived by his brother, Johnny L. Causey Jr. (Donna); sister, Bonnie G. Causey (David Love); three nieces; two nephews; one great-niece; and four great-nephews.
Due to the restrictions of COVID-19, a visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, in Lee Funeral Home Chapel for friends to visit. The family held a private funeral service for the health and safety of all.
